Biréli Lagrène
Commençons par Biréli Lagrène qui, après l’excellent Solo suites paru en mai dernier, vient d’enregistrer avec la formation mythique du « Gypsy Trio ». Aux côtés de Diego Imbert et Hono Winterstein, le guitariste ré-interprète avec fraîcheur des compositions de Loulou Gasté. La sortie de Biréli Lagrène plays Loulou Gasté est prévue pour juin 2023. Elle va sans aucun doute susciter l’intérêt d’une grande partie de la communauté et au-délà…
Steven Reinhardt et Angelo Debarre
Une autre équipe de choc, « familiale », menée par le virtuose Angelo Debarre et son neveu Steven Reinhardt, vient également de mettre en boîte un album. Ce projet est à paraître prochainement avec une équipe de haut vol : Benji Winterstein, Alban Chappelle, Thierry Chanteloup et Costel Nitescu. Ce disque a été pensé comme un hommage à Jean Coussantier, grand-père d’Angelo Debarre et artiste émérite.
Romane et Daniel John Martin
L’élégant duo composé de Romane et Daniel John Martin, poursuit sa collaboration avec un nouvel opus intitulé Papillons. L’inoubliable MC des jams des « Petits Joueurs », Daniel John Martin propose une série de compositions originales aux côté de Romane, pionnier du revival jazz manouche des années 90 et mélodiste raffiné qu’on ne présente plus.

Aller, comme si tout cela ne suffisait pas, un projet « Django with strings » vient d’être enregistré avec une brochette de talents tout aussi impressionnante. Nous parlons là de Sébastien Giniaux, Fanou Torracinta et Romain Vuillemin aux guitares solos, accompagnés d’Edouard Pennes, Julien Cattiaux et un quatuor à cordes mené par Jules Dussap sur des arrangements d’une grande finesse…

Let’s start with Biréli Lagrène who, after the excellent « Solo suites » released last May, has just recorded with the mythical formation of the « Gypsy Trio ». Alongside Diego Imbert and Hono Winterstein, the guitarist proposes his own rendition of compositions by Loulou Gasté. The release of « Biréli Lagrène plays Loulou Gasté » is scheduled for spring 2023. It will undoubtedly arouse the interest of a large part of the community and beyond.
Steven Reinhardt et Angelo Debarre
Another shock team , a « family » team, led by virtuoso Angelo Debarre and his nephew Steven Reinhardt, has also just recorded an album to be released soon with a high-profile line-up : Benji Winterstein, Alban Chappelle, Thierry Chanteloup and Costel Nitescu. This record has been conceived as a tribute to Jean Coussantier, grandfather of Angelo Debarre and talented artist.

The elegant Romane and Daniel John Martin duo pursues its collaboration with a new opus called « Papillons » (Butterflies). Daniel John Martin, the unforgettable MC of « Les petits joueurs » jam sessions, brings original compositions to be played alongside Romane, pionneer of the 1990’s gypsy jazz revival and a fine melodist that needs no introduction.

No doubt that with all these exciting projects, 2023 is going to be rather cool!
